Riosul is a well established company which has been involved in the tourist industry since 1977, with the creation of the tourist company Guaditur, Lda, by Renato José Rodrigues D’Oliveira in 1976, who today is still an associate of these two sister companies. This company appeared to support a pioneer project in Portugal, whose main objective was the organization and operation of environmental and adventure tours, in Jeeps and boat cruises, on the River Guadiana and the Algarvian inlands, offering a different and alternative product to the sun and beach tourism to which the Algarve has always been connected to.

In 1991 the two companies cooperated together in launching a new kind of product, which really took off well with national and international Tour Operators. This new product was the combination of different tours in to one (boat, jeep, bike and walks) especially in the Guadiana River area.
Situated in the heart of the Algarvian mountain range, by the Guadiana River, in the timeless village of Foz de Odeleite, lies «Quinta do Rio», the companies own beautiful rural and tourist property, with 30.000 sq m with its own typical restaurant and swimming pools, overlooking the river, almond trees, carob and fig trees.

With a brand new fleet of 10 Land Rover Jeeps, 75 bikes, 10 canoes, a vessel with a holding capacity of 150 people, Riosul/Guaditur to this day still promotes a different Portugal, with tours in different areas of the country, but mainly in the Guadiana Area the Algarvian inland and Alentejo.
